Ways To Save A Marriage By Enhancing Communications

If you are looking for ways to save a marriage then perhaps you need to focus on enhancing communications with you partner. Relationships break down sometimes because we are not nearly as effective at communicating with our partners as we should be.

If you look at successful marriages you’ll see that each spouse is on the same wavelength. Perhaps they are just naturally bonded to each other and compliment each other in every way. Other times they work hard to be happy and successful. Whichever way they have reached this point, it’s the place where you want to be.

I doubt that spouses lucky enough to be in this situation ever ask ‘How do I save my marriage?’ however, this is not to say they don’t experience difficult times. Most marriages go through bad patches. I don’t know a single couple that hasn’t ever had a row.

Arguments and fights can be turned into a positive and actually help build marriages stronger. The importance is to work at the marriage and make it work. Open up communications and learn to understand each others needs. You will find that if you enhance communications you will have more ways to save a marriage.

Sabotaging Ways To Save a Marriage

Marriages fail for many reasons, often spouses are too late to act and before they can even attempt to find ways to save a marriage their spouse is out of the door. Not all divorces are nasty break-ups. A lot of them could have been saved if only we paid more attention.

Even at the brink of separation a marriage can still be saved. Oddly, it’s during this critical point that we often do the wrong things and sabotage our marriage rather than try to save it. No wonder spouses ask ‘How do I save my marriage?’ Being married doesn’t make you an expert in marriage.

We do the silliest things sometimes when we are emotionally stressed. Sometimes our pride can get in the way, even when our other half is reaching out to us. Selfish actions put your marriage at risk. If in your case, you are the one reaching out and your partner is the one pushing you away, there is still hope.

It’s about being understanding and patient, more importantly getting the right marriage expert advice. Look for ways to save a marriage and accept guidance. Avoid being the marriage expert and risking your marriage further.

Don’t Burn Your Bridges And Lose Ways To Save A Marriage

Communication alone makes up an important part in ways to save a marriage. So before you ask, “How do I save my marriage?” lets look at what you could be doing right now.

Many marriages break down because of lack of communication. Some break down because of too much (shouting and screaming that is). Finding the right balance is important.

Spouses are often reluctant to talk about problems because they feel that the fault lies with their partner and that they should bring up the topic. But with no one ready to talk, how is anything resolved?

You might be thinking bringing up a sore topic is a death note. However it’s more likely to do good than bad, provided you do it with tact.

One sure way of making things worse is by not talking and letting the other half come to their own conclusions. With neither partner talking, you are most certainly stepping into un-chartered territory.

This is destroying ways to save a marriage faster than boxing match with a grizzly bear. The result- an ugly mess you most definitely want to avoid.

Ways To Save A Marriage Without Losing Your Cool

“So, how do I save my marriage?” Something that doesn’t get seem to get much attention in a heated argument is noise control. Have you noticed that, some arguments start so civil and escalate into an inferno of screaming, shouting and violent behavior?

You’re probably thinking ‘Whew! And I thought it was just me’ Fact is it’s not something you should feel reassured about. With divorce rates as high as 0.05% you could well be on your way to becoming just another statistic.

But never fear, there’s something to be learnt from all the screaming and shouting (yes, there really is). Have you noticed that good friends or people who connect mirror each other in their body language and behavior? In fact, it’s one of the success factors in nailing a job interview.

You’ve probably experienced this with friends or during your first encounters with your partner. It’s a form of acceptance and little known to most it can most certainly help you during a crisis in your marriage.

Ways To Save A Marriage The Wrong Way

So, maybe I was being a bit harsh on the previous post. Perhaps when your friend is desperately seeking help from you and asking “How do I save my marriage?” The last thing you should do is ignore them.

Perhaps you do have real knowledge on ways to save a marriage. Maybe you have experienced tough times in your marriage and got through them. Maybe you should be giving advice after all. However my comments were targeted against those individuals who have neither experienced similar situations or worse, failed at resolving their problems.

I mean would you trust a friend who has had 2 failed marriages? I should hope not! It’s far better to rely on proved success rather than banking on a gut feeling or throw away advice.

Ways To Save Marriage: Advice From A Friend

“Tell me, how do I save my marriage when all she wants to do is scream at me?” – A friend once asked me. I stared at him blankly and began to utter some useless advice, like ‘Don’t worry, everything will be ok”

That was back then, but knowing what I know now, I would have told him to get professional help immediately. Yes, as friends we tend to give some bad advice (unintentionally) and we all want to seem like experts (even in ways to save a marriage).

Would you trust your friend to perform open-heart surgery on a dying man, or leave it to the professionals? Then why would you risk your marriage?

Fact is, saving a marriage requires a great deal more of tact and knowledge than some of us are led to believe.
